Genesis 1

So God created man in his own image,  in the image of God he created him;  male and female he created them. Gen 1:27

Images. What are they and what are they for? An image is a representation or reproduction of a thing or object. They truly portray the form, nature or being of their object.

Have you ever wondered what kind of implications that has on man being created in God’s image? Especially when man will have to be accountable for that to God? The implications are incredible!

If it hasn’t occurred to you, being made in God’s image means that we are to represent who God is in all we do openly or secretly and pursuing what God pursues.

Representing God would mean showing his holiness, goodness and righteousness. Pursuing what God pursues is to make His Name great and glorifying Him – in EVERYTHING! To be honest, no one can do that – except Jesus who is perfect in every way, is the exact image of God and truly lived that life. How wonderful that in believing in Jesus, we become that!!!

As the year begins and resolutions are being made (and already being broken), consider God’s blueprint for your life – to be  his image – and resolve to not cease till by the grace of God and the working of His Spirit in you that begins and continues to be true of you.
